Immerse yourself in the tranquility of Cimiez – a place of outstanding historical importance, inhabited through the centuries by Romans, Franciscan monks, European aristocrats and more recently, the renowned French painter Henri Matisse.

We take the bus to Cimiez and walk through the old olive grove to discover the Roman remnants and the Franciscan church with its monastery and colourful garden.

Meeting point: In front of the Apollo statue of the “Fontaine du Soleil” at Place Masséna

Comments: After our walk you may visit the Matisse museum, Chagall museum or archeological museum in Cimiez (museum fees are payable upon entry). Public toilets are available in the olive grove and museums.
